About the Position
NOTE: This is a trainee position. Work assignments and applicable training are structured to provide for advancement to the full scope of the Transit Maintenance Manager as outlined in this posting. The specifics of the training program will be based on the knowledge, skills and abilities of the selected finalist. The training program and salary advancement will be agreed upon prior to appointment. Salary listed is at the trainee level and expected to progress up to CG 44/R14 upon successful completion of the two year training program.
This is responsible administrative, managerial, supervisory and technical work in directing the personnel, activities, and functions of the Transit Maintenance Unit, both directly and through front line supervisors. Under the general supervision of the Transit Service Manager, the employee must exercise considerable judgment and discretion in directing the effective procurement, maintenance and repair of transit vehicles and mechanical equipment, and the buildings and grounds facilities and transit system.
